Privacy policy
Effective October 2026
This policy explains what Larry Thompson for Congress (the "campaign," "we" or "us") collects on this page, how we use it and the choices you have. The campaign is the principal campaign committee of Larry Thompson, candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in California's 32nd District (FEC ID C00907626).
What we collect
When you sign up, we collect the email address and ZIP code you type in.
When you visit, we also record the tags on the link that brought you here (for example, which Facebook or Instagram ad you tapped) and, if you sign up, the page address and the site that referred you. If the Meta Pixel is turned on for this page, Meta may collect information about your visit, such as your browser, device and the actions you take on the page, using cookies and similar technology.
We do not take donations on this page. When you tap a Donate button, you go to the campaign's donation page hosted by Anedot, which collects the information federal law requires and handles your payment under its own privacy policy. The Donate link may pass along your email address, ZIP code and the ad that brought you here, so you don't have to type them twice.
How we use it
- To send you emails from the campaign about the race, Larry's positions and how and when to vote
- To learn which ads bring people to this page, so we can decide where to spend the campaign's advertising budget
- To show campaign ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited this page, and to measure those ads
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent the email addresses collected on this page. We share information only with service providers that help us run the campaign, and only for that purpose:
- Google, which stores the signup list in a spreadsheet the campaign controls
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for ad measurement and ad audiences
- Our website host and the consultant that manages our ads, who must keep the information confidential
- Anedot, if you choose to donate
We may also disclose information when the law requires it. Federal law requires campaigns to report the name, address, occupation and employer of anyone whose contributions add up to more than $200 in an election cycle. Those reports are public on the Federal Election Commission's website. Signing up on this page does not put you in those reports.
Cookies and ads
Meta and other third parties may use cookies, web beacons and similar technology on this page to collect information about your visit and use it to show and measure ads. You can change how Facebook and Instagram use this information in your Meta ad preferences. You can also opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info, or block cookies in your browser settings. The page still works if you do.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any campaign email, or by emailing us at the address below. You can also ask us to remove your email address from our list.
Security and how long we keep it
We limit access to the signup list to the people working on the campaign. We keep your information for as long as the campaign needs it for the purposes above, or as the law requires.
Children
This page is meant for voters in California's 32nd District. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
